| Description | France, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (04) Méailles is a small village perched on a ridge which dominates the Vaïre, at an altitude of 1,050 m. The village is placed on a steep rock which originates in the Fugeret territory and is extends onto the Grand Coyer mountain. The height of this rock provides a natural defense for the village, which is established on a small plain, where the cultivation of fruit trees is possible. The village is picturesque, with its narrow streets, its old stone houses, its legendary bell tower and its chestnut trees. |
